Since being created in 2003, Annie’s List has accomplished major milestones and changed the political landscape of Texas . We played a critical role in electing twelve new Democratic women to the Texas House of Representatives and another to the Texas Senate, have trained hundreds of potential candidates and campaign staffers across the state, engaged tens of thousands of women voters and helped fill the power pipeline for tomorrow’s women leaders – including for Mayor of Houston in 2009 and statewide offices in 2010. All of which recently earned us the title of “Best Texas Political Action Committee” by Capitol Inside magazine.
